My biggest problem is that my eating habits are controlled by my current mood. When I am on an "up" I am very careful with what I eat and even monitor what I drink - Like these beautiful fresh smoothies.
I find it quiet easy to stick to my goals when I am feeling okay.
BUT when I am feeling a little down or just time poor I tend to snack and eat "sweet" things which make me feel even worse because I feel so guilty for eating so much sugar - Sort of like a downward spiral.
I am a real sweet tooth so the trick for me is to try to have some "sweet" easy fixes always available for those down times when I just have to have it - All of the books have lots of sweet recipes like these jam drops - Which are really delicious.
In the past few weeks I have also made this strawberry meringue slice
And this delicious banana loaf. What do you do when you need a sugar fix? Are there certain times when you have those cravings?
Do you have any tips for beating them?
I would love to hear about them.
My first weigh in is only a week away so I am hoping that I have lost a couple of kilograms - I do feel much better for having made healthy choices - Well all except for the chocolate bar that I devoured this afternoon.
Until next time,
FEE X

Yeah it really does depend on my mood as to what I eat too, I tend to pick more when I'm feeling low.
Comfort eating - we all do it.... I try and keep lots of fruit for those sweet cravings... and this week I am making sugar free jelly

Thanks Fee. Which book are they in. They look very yummy
When I make things like cakes I slice it up and freeze it so I can take a peice out every now and then and feed the sugar crave. It's also good because I still have to wait for it to thaw before I can eat it as well so more time before I cave in :) Barb.
I found a recipe last week for no-sugar-added banana muffins. The riper the bananas, the naturally sweeter the muffins are. Throw in some walnut or pecan chunks, and you've got a nice, fairly low-cal muffin, that doesn't lend itself to your sugar jinks! Let me know, and I'll e-mail you the recipe if you're interested. :)
Hi Fiona, I'm battling the same at the moment. Hopefully I'll get some inspiration here. I know chromium is supposed to be good for sugar cravings. I have some - maybe I should actually take them. I don't think they work by just staring at the bottle lol.
Cheers,

Hi Fee and Jenny! I just wanted to let you know that I've joined you and have ordered the book.. I see that y'all say this is in book 5 or 4 or whatever. I'm in the US, and there is only one book. I'm wondering if it's all consolidated into one book. I guess I will see when it gets here. I spent some time on her blog last night, and I love her philosophy. I'm doing Weight Watchers, but want to do this along with it.
I am TOTALLY an emotional eater. It doesn't matter if I'm stuffed to the max, my mood depends on whether I eat or not. I've been trying to do good and eat a piece of fruit (fruit is free on WW), but oh how I'd love to have some chocolate or something BADDDDD! LOL
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I've joined you on your journey and have enjoyed reading your blog.
Thank you both!
Hugs from Texas,
Carolyn :)
I am so glad to found your blog and a place with some great healthy recipes. I belong to Weight Watchers and have had a lot of success with their program. Seems like the whole world is trying to get slim.
